Telling homage covers from reading copies

Same issue number, different object: treat the cover treatment as part of the identity.

Collectors often say “I have issue five” when they have three different cover treatments of issue five. In a Marvel NFT comic library that sentence hides work. Homage layouts, unused trade dress, and virgin paintings are not interchangeable reread objects even when the interior pages match.

Sit with the files at full size. Note whether logos and house dress appear. Note the cover artist as credited on the listing. Quote ratio language if the listing used it, then put that quote on a sleeve rather than in advertising copy on your own site.

Desktop Work Base is an independent informational resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Marvel Characters, Inc., Marvel Entertainment, LLC, or The Walt Disney Company. Cover names exist here so files can be told apart.

If two files still look identical, check the NFT edition note and the local hash of the file, not a social-media crop. The library cares which bytes you kept.
