What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site can store in your browser. This site is a static Hugo publication. It uses a first-party preference in localStorage for the consent banner, which is similar in purpose to a cookie even when it is not an HTTP cookie. Some browsers also receive third-party cookies from font or image hosts.

Essential cookies and storage

The consent banner writes dwb_cookie_consent in localStorage when you choose Accept or Reject. That value remembers your choice so the banner does not return on every page load. Rejecting optional cookies still leaves this essential preference in place; the public pages, navigation, and Veve link continue to work.

Analytics cookies

If you Accept, we may allow a lightweight first-party analytics cookie in future deployments to count page views in aggregate. If you Reject, we will not set that analytics cookie. The current static build does not require analytics to display cataloguing information.

How to disable cookies

Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies and site data for desktopworkbase.click. You may also click Reject on the banner, which stores a refusal and hides the banner. Clearing storage will show the banner again.

Third-party cookies

Font and image requests may allow those providers to set cookies according to their own policies. We do not control Veve, Unsplash, or Google. Following an external link is not a cookie set by our banner.

Impact of disabling cookies

Blocking all site data may make the banner reappear. Optional analytics, if later enabled, would not run after Reject. Cataloguing pages, legal pages, and telephone/email links remain available. No lead form depends on cookies because no lead form exists.

Privacy

Personal-data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
